About
The Craft class at Parkside is a grade 11 course. This course focuses on the exploration and creation of both traditional and contemporary crafts, with a focus on 'upcycling'. We will explore the differences and similarities between Art & Craft.
Students will use the Creative Process to make artworks using a variety of materials and reflecting on a wide range of subjects. They will discuss and evaluate artworks utilizing the Critical Analysis Process. Students will explore and create works of art within a personal, contemporary, historical, and cultural context. Through the process of creation, students will develop terminology, techniques, and learn responsible practices associated with visual art. |
There is no prerequisite (no previous art experience needed). However, it is helpful to ensure that you enjoy creating fun crafts!
Ms. Cameron Tip: If you are passionate about art and desire to fast-track some courses, this is a great course to pick up in grade 10. |
For the student's final project, they design and create a glass mosaic. Special thanks to all those who have donated glass to PCI over the years! Your donations make this project possible.
